When you perform in-game tasks in "RuneScape," you gain experience points. Once you gain enough of a given type of experience, the associated stat goes up a level. For example, chopping down trees in the game gives you Woodcutting experience. The higher a skill level, the more experience required to improve it. Most skills cap at level 99, save for the Dungeoneering skill, which caps at level 120.
"RuneScape" is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed and published by Jagex. Players control customizable avatars through the fictional world of Gielinor. The game universe also spans three novels and a turn-based strategy game called "Armies of Gielinor." Though the game has been frequently updated and changed, the original version of "RuneScape" had such a large, dedicated following that Jagex re-released the 2007 servers for those who preferred the game prior to its later updates.
"RuneScape" does not involve a set, linear storyline, instead offering players an open world in which to perform quests, advance skills, gather and trade resources, and explore based on their personal inclinations. Over 200 million "RuneScape" accounts have been created since the game's release in 2001, making it the world's largest free MMORPG, according to Guinness World Records.
