A car decanter is a serving vessel for wine or another alcohol that has been shaped and decorated to look like a vintage automobile or a race car. These decanters are noted collector's items and are often sold by whisky or spirits companies such as Jim Beam.
Decanters allow for the separation of sediment from the liquid alcohol that is being stored in the container, and they also stimulate oxidation processes that allow for the proper aeration of wine. Decanters are typically made from glass or crystal and feature stoppers of some sort. Car decanters have been in production for over 50 years, and decanters from companies such as Double Springs and Ezra Brooks have become inexpensive collector's items in the 21st century.
