Pflueger fishing reels are occasionally available for sale on Ebay or at specialty sellers like FishingCollectables.com. Pflueger reels from the last 50 to 60 years are more widely available from resellers, while true antiques dating to earlier in the 20th century are rare.
In May 2015, a Pflueger Redifor Casting Reel advertised as "circa 1914" was available for a price of $295 on FishingCollectables.com. The seller listed other antique and vintage Pflueger reels for sale as well. A number of Pflueger reels from the 1940s and 1950s also were available on EBay. Some of the most sought-after Pflueger reels are the Regal, the Pastime and the Eclipse.
E. F. Pflueger's Enterprise Manufacturing Company started as a fishing-tackle company in 1881. The company's earliest products included fishing lures and decoys. In 1916, Pflueger's introduced reels, including the Baitcasting Reel and the Medina, a double-multiplying casting reel. Since that time, Pflueger's has made and sold a variety of well-regarded and collectible fishing reels.
In 1966, Pflueger's was sold to a company called Shakespeare. Shakespeare continues to manufacture reels under the Pflueger name, as well as under its own name. New reels of all kinds are available from Pflueger's at its website, PfluegerFishing.com.
