Getting to islands eight and nine requires two special items that are not available through normal play: the Mystic Ticket and the Aurora Ticket. Once these items are in the player's possession, the player can sail to the islands from the Seagallop Ferries.

Both the Mystic Ticket and the Aurora Ticket can only be obtained from Nintendo events, trading with other players or as a Mystery Gift. The Mystic Ticket grants access to island eight, also known as Navel Rock, and the Aurora Ticket grants access to island nine, or Birth Island. Once these tickets are obtained, talk to the sailor standing in front of the SeaGallop Ferries to be taken to the islands.

Navel Rock is located between Floe and Chrono islands. It consists of a small cave that contains two legendary Pok?mon: Lugia and Ho-Oh. Birth Island is located between Fortune and Quest islands. The island is a small triangle that contains only a rock, which moves when the player approaches it. The player has to follow the rock to its new position using the smallest possible number of steps. After several rounds of this, the legendary Pok?mon Deoxys appears.

Players who are unable to obtain the two tickets may not need to visit the islands if they can obtain Deoxys, Lugia and Ho-Oh through trades with other players.
