In December 1988 the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) banned the sale of original darts due to a number of incidents involving injury and death, according to the CPSC. The CPSC also urged owners of Jarts to discard or destroy them. It recommends that Jarts should not be given away or resold, as they may cause harm to others.
