Players can find "Angry Birds" and play it directly in their browser at the game's official website. As of 2015, two variations of the game are playable online: "Angry Birds Friends on Facebook" and "Angry Birds Chrome."
"Angry Birds Friends" is playable through Facebook and on mobile platforms. It's a puzzle game where Facebook users can challenge their friends and other users around the world in unique, weekly tournaments. Each tournament has a theme, such as Halloween, Christmas and Valentines, and special features, such as new enemy types and real-word rewards. Winners in the weekly tournaments earn virtual currency that they can use to buy extra abilities and bird slingers. Game developer Rovio Entertainment occasionally releases game episodes exclusive to the Facebook version of the game.
"Angry Birds Chrome" is an amalgamation of other games in the series, including the original "Angry Birds" and "Angry Bird Seasons." Players can only play the game through the Google Chrome Web browser. In addition to offering levels already available in other "Angry Birds" games, "Angry Birds Chrome" features an exclusive content called Chrome Dimensions. Although it's free to play, the game requires players to log into their Google accounts to save their progress and access the most content.
