  1. Gather the supplies

You need two pieces of plywood that are 24 by 48 inches. For the frame, you also need twelve cut pieces of 2x4s, four that are 48 inches, four that are 21 inches and four that are 11 1/2 inches.

  2. Build the platforms

Construct two boxes with the 2x4s by fastening the 21-inch boards inside of the 48-inch boards. Once the boxes are complete, fasten a plywood board on top of each frame with 1 5/8-inch screws.

  3. Add the legs

On one end of each leg, make a 3 1/2-inch radius cut with a jigsaw. To attach the legs, turn the boxes upside down. With radius side in the corner, lay each leg parallel and flush up against a top corner. Mark the vertical center of the radius of each leg, and drill a 1/2-inch hole through the leg and the box. Attach each leg with a carriage bolt, washer and wing nut. Make sure the legs are square, and sand the radius top, if needed. Tighten the bolts when the legs are square. Turn the platforms right side up, and use blocks to lift the platforms 12 inches from the table. Using the table as a guide, draw a straight line across the bottom of the legs on both sides. Trim the ends with a circular saw.

  4. Make the hole

On each platform, mark the center of a hole that is 9 inches from the top and 12 inches from the side. Use a compass to draw a 6-inch circle. With a jigsaw, cut out the circle.

  5. Finish the cornhole boards.

Sand, prime and paint the cornhole boards as desired.
