Baby Alive food is a novelty water-based food mix designed to be fed to toy Baby Alive dolls. The mix is sold by the toy manufacturer Hasbro, although many online forums offer tips to make the mix at home using simple ingredients.
Kenner introduced the Baby Alive doll in 1973. The doll was able to be fed the special food mix, which would pass through its body and come out as simulated bodily waste or sometimes vomit. The intent was to create a realistic baby doll that came with all the messes a real live baby creates. Hasbro redesigned and released a more realistic version of the Baby Alive doll in 2006, which still uses a similar food mix.
