A 2015 survey by photography website SmartShoot revealed that prices for studio photography can vary greatly, from $200 to $4000, depending on the length and type of job. A one-hour shoot with natural lighting is typically the cheapest type of job, and shooting a large wedding is the most expensive.
Over 250 photographers from 41 out of 50 states and several foreign countries responded to SmartShoot's survey. Their average price for short sessions photographing real estate, engaged couples, portraits, products and events is between $200-$300. The price increases for half-day and full-day jobs, as well as jobs that require extensive lighting or an assistant.
