Two tricks that can be done with a $5 bill are making Abraham Lincoln smile or frown and making it look like Abraham Lincoln is wearing a cap. These tricks are completed by precisely folding the bill.
To make it appear as though Lincoln is smiling or frowning, begin by folding the bill in half with the crease facing forward. Then, make two more folds in the opposite direction down the center of Lincoln's eyes. When the bill is viewed from various angles, it will appear as though Lincoln is either smiling or frowning.
To make Lincoln appear to be wearing a hat, begin by folding a portion of the top of the bill forward and a portion of the bottom of the bill back. Lincoln's face should remain fully visible. Then, fold the left side of the bill back while still keeping Lincoln's face visible. Fold the lower left part of the bill back diagonally, creating a crease right below Lincoln's left jaw bone. Unfold the upper part of the bill that is to the right of Lincoln's face. Fold the same portion of the bill backwards so that a crease is made directly below Lincoln's right jaw bone. Fold the part of the bill that is behind Lincoln's head across the front of his forehead, and fold it around. To finish, fold the top tip of the bill down to create a hat.
