Who Were Rosa Parks' Siblings?

Political activist Rosa Parks had just one known sibling, who was named Sylvester McCauley. Sylvester, who was born in Alabama in 1915, was two years younger than Rosa Parks.

Rosa Parks is famous for fighting racism and playing a major part in the desegregation of the South. Rosa is most remembered for refusing to give up her bus seat to a Caucasian patron in 1955, which landed her in jail. This sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott, during which African-American citizens boycotted the buses of Montgomery, Alabama. The boycott began on the day of Rosa's trial. As a result of the boycott's success, other political activists began to take more rigorous actions to encourage change, and organizations like the Montgomery Improvement Association were formed.
