The names of Henry Hudson's parents are unknown. There are few details available regarding Hudson's early life, although, according to Biography.com, it is believed he was born around 1565.
Biography.com also states, it is rumored that Hudson was married to a woman named Katherine, with whom he had three sons. He was the commander of a ship named Discovery. Hudson is believed to have died in 1611, when his crew mutinied and left him and those loyal to him (including one of his sons) in a small boat. Several locations are named after Hudson, including the Hudson Bay, the Hudson River, Hudson County, the town of Hudson in New York and the Henry Hudson Bridge.
