The Zuni diet consisted of farmed crops, hunted game and gathered fruits and nuts, as well as fish. Among the food crops cultivated by the Zuni tribe were corn, beans and squash, which they used to make cornbread, corn balls, hominy, baked beans and soup.
They hunted large animals, such as deer, as well as smaller game, using bows and arrows.
The Zuni also cultivated crops not for consumption, such as cotton and tobacco.
Modern Zuni people have much the same diet, including trout, catfish, bass and farmed vegetables. Today, they supplement their diet with domesticated livestock and occasional big game hunts.
