What Is the Religion of the Xia Dynasty?

The people of the Xia dynasty initially believed in spirits, but they eventually adopted the Buddhist religion. At one point, state officials lived in the Buddhist monasteries throughout the territory.

The primary principles of Buddhism are the Four Noble Truths, and they include the truth of suffering, end of suffering, cause of suffering and the path that leads someone to end their suffering. Karma is another aspect of this religion, and it refers to a person's bad and good actions throughout their life. Good actions bring happiness and bad actions bring unhappiness. The cycle of rebirth is part of karma, and those with positive karma get reborn into a fortunate realm while those with negative karma get reborn into the unfortunate realms.
