Moses’ life is divided into three equal periods. He spent 40 years in the court of the Egyptian Pharaoh, 40 years in Midian after he fled Egypt and 40 years leading the Israelites in the wilderness.
According to the Bible, Moses was a prophet of God and was commanded to face Pharaoh and demand that he free the people of Israel. Pharaoh finally did release the Israelites, but only after God released the Ten Plagues on Egypt.
