The Burns Paiute Tribe of Oregon is a Native American tribe whose official name begins with the letter B. This tribe lives on the Burns Paiute Reservation located north of Burns, Ore.
Many of the current tribe members are the descendants of the Wadatika band of Paiute Indians that previously wandered central and southern Oregon. The Wadatika band was named for the wada seeds they collected as food from the nearby shores of Malheur Lake. The band's territory extended from the Cascade Mountains to the Payette Valley and from the southern edge of the Blue Mountains to the desert south of Steens Mountain, covering an area of approximately 52,500 square miles.
