Leonardo da Vinci began as an apprentice with artist Verrocchio at age 14. For the next six years, da Vinci learned various art skills, such as sculpting and drawing. At age 20, da Vinci established his own workshop after becoming qualified as a master artist at the Guild of Saint Luke. Later in life, he continued his work in Rome for three years. Da Vinci later moved to France where he died on May 2, 1519.
