Rosa Parks had one younger brother, Sylvester McCauley, who was two years younger than she. He was born in 1915 and fathered a total of 13 children.
It was Sylvester who invited Rosa and Raymond Parks to move to Detroit after her famous bus incident in Alabama. She lived there for the rest of her life. While Rosa Parks did not have any children of her own, she was quite close to her nieces and nephews. Since her death in 2005, Sylvester's children have worked hard to preserve their aunt's legacy, even going as far as filing suit against those who use her likeness without permission.
