Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on Aug. 28, 1963. The memorial is located in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Martin Luther King's speech was an essential part of “The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.” He was the last of many speakers to address the crowd of approximately 250,000 citizens, who protested racial inequality in the United States.
