Henry Hudson made more than one sailing trip and was primarily trying to find a route to Asia but eventually ended up in the Americas instead. He made four main voyages in his lifetime: two to Asia, one to the New World and a fourth that took him to what is now known as Hudson Bay.
Henry Hudson was born in 1565 and died in 1611. He was a prominent explorer of his time and worked with the Dutch East India Company in 1609. This voyage was when he made it to the Americas for the first time and found what is now known as the Hudson River.
