Individuals who want to prevent cancer should also maintain a healthy weight and be physically active for at least 30 minutes every day, notes the American Institute for Cancer Research. It is also recommended to consume a wide variety of vegetables, whole grains, fruits and legumes.
Decrease the risk of cancer by consuming more fiber and fish, buying organic foods, adding fiber to the diet, drinking green tea and getting plenty of vitamin D, states Prevention. Trans fat foods should also be avoided. These foods include anything deep-fried. Foods that contain partially hydrogenated oil are high in trans fat.
Other ways to try and prevent cancer includes filtering tap water, using hair and skin products that do not include parabens and avoiding BPA and BPS.
