Both WebMD and Everyday Health have symptom checkers that are similar to the symptom checker provided by Mayo Clinic. In order to use either checker, visitors to the websites click on common conditions and are then directed to a list of symptoms for the particular condition selected. Inversely, visitors can also search for conditions by symptom.
On WebMD, visitors choose gender and age and then click on specific areas of the body to note symptoms experienced. For example, clicking on the picture of the body, and then on the upper abdomen will reveal a list of possible upper abdomen symptoms to choose from. Once a visitor chooses the symptoms experienced, the symptom checker reveals potential conditions. On Everyday Health, visitors can enter a symptom to get started or choose symptoms from a list.
