Most pain clinics have a team of health care professionals on staff that offer patients a wide array of pain management and treatment options. The health care professionals work together to create a pain management plan for each patient on an individual basis. Many pain clinics offer patients alternative treatments such as massage and acupuncture along with traditional methods of treating pain.
There are many different strategies for pain management that vary according to the needs of each patient, according to WebMD. Often, medication is prescribed before other methods of pain control are used. Some types of pain medication are non-aspirin pain relievers, opiate pain medications, corticosteroids and antidepressants.
