Patients are advised not to skip a dose and should follow the given directions. It goes away shortly after it has been used. Convenient times to apply the gel include after a morning bath, after lunch, after dinner and before going to bed.
People who have suffered a severe allergic reaction or asthma attack after using diclofenac, aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are advised not to use Voltaren Gel. NSAIDs pose a risk of stroke and heart attack if used for a long time, or if a person is suffering from a heart disease. They are also known to cause intestinal bleeding, so caution must be applied when using them. Using Voltaren Gel before or after a heart surgery is not recommended.
