Vitamin B6 does provide the body with energy by converting foods into glucose. Glucose in turn is used by the body for energy, as stated by the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Vitamin B6 does more than provide the body with energy. It also helps it metabolize different fats and keeps the hair and skin healthy. A diet sufficient in B6 can also reduce the likelihood of stroke and heart problems, as stated by WebMD. Foods that naturally have high amounts of vitamin B6 include fruits, vegetables and fish. Whole grains, cereal and beans also contain adequate amounts of the vitamin.
