Curves offers a number of workout plans, including a Dance and Tone class, Arms-Core-Legs class, Body Balance class, and Stretch and Strength class. Other classes, such as the Arms+, Legs+ and Core+ classes, each target a single area of the body. Spokesperson Jillian Michaels has designed a series of three progressive total body workouts designated Intro, Level One and Level Two. All Curves classes are 30 minutes long and are personalized by a coach who works one-on-one with each participant.
The Curves Dance and Tone class incorporates dance moves in addition to exercises on strength training machines. Styles of dance performed by students include Latin, jazz, swing and hip-hop. The goal of the dance movement is to improve balance, flexibility and strength, and to promote weight loss.
The Arms-Core-Legs class targets the specific muscle groups in these areas of the body using both machines and movement in between the exercises. The goal is to maintain a consistent heart rate throughout the workout. The Body Balance class takes a similar approach, with an emphasis on balance, stability and strength. The Stretch and Strength class is a full body workout to improve flexibility, increase strength and lengthen muscles. Arms+, Legs+ and Core+ classes are lower-intensity workouts that emphasize one area of the body for the entire 30-minute session.
