Foods such as berries, nuts, artichoke hearts, coffee and ground cloves contain the highest levels of antioxidants. Researchers tested over 1,100 foods for antioxidant and nutrient density and determined these foods to be the top sources.
According to the researchers' findings, the berries highest in antioxidants are blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, cranberries and blueberries. In the nut category, walnuts and pecans have the highest levels. Artichoke hearts and ground cloves are also rich in antioxidants. Brewed coffee is another significant source. Individuals can increase their antioxidant consumption by adding these foods to their daily meals and preparing recipes using these foods as the primary ingredients.
