To remove a contact lens safely, stand in front of a mirror, look up, raise the upper eyelid, pull down the lower eyelid, and use your index finger and thumb pads to squeeze and pull the contact away, says Cooper Vision. Always remove lenses slowly and carefully.
Use your non-dominant hand to raise the top eyelid while your dominant hand does the rest. Use lubricant or rewetting drops if your eyes are dry. Pull the lens toward the bottom eyelid to help it lift, says Cooper Vision. Once removed, put the contact lens in the palm of your other hand.
