When people use sucralose as a sugar substitute in baking, it decomposes, releasing choroproanols that have toxic properties, explains Prevention. Marketed as Splenda sweetener, sucralose can change blood glucose levels and insulin responses, and can potentially alter genes. There is also a relationship between the sweetener and inflammatory bowel disease.
