Dupuytren's conracture is a deformity of the hand that develops slowly, according to the Mayo Clinic. Dupuytren's contracture is a result of knots of tissue forming under the skin of the palm, which eventually bend fingers inward.
Patients most commonly affected by Dupuytren's contracture are male, older and of Northern European lineage, as the Mayo Clinic states. The disease is treatable, but some patients do not opt for treatment if the disease's progression is slow.Learn more about Conditions & Diseases
