To make a simple vodka slush, combine 4 cups cranberry juice, 2 cups orange juice, 1 1/4 cups vodka, 1/4 cup strained lime juice, and 1/4 cup orange liqueur into a clean cardboard milk container. Freeze until frozen solid. Thaw contents to a slushy consistency before drinking the vodka slush.
Alternatively, take 4 cups of watermelon, seeds removed, and puree flesh in a blender or food processor. Freeze pureed watermelon in empty ice cube trays for at least four hours. Combine simple syrup to taste, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 cup of vodka, 2 ounces melon liquor and the watermelon ice cubes in a blender and puree to a slushy consistency. Serve in chilled wine or martini glasses.
For a slightly different take on the traditional vodka slush, gather 2 cups white sugar, 7 cups water, 2 tablespoons instant tea powder, 1 can of frozen orange juice concentrate, 1 can of frozen lemonade concentrate, 2 cups cold water, 2 cups vodka and 1 bottle lemon lime-soda. Bring the sugar and 7 cups water to a boil and stir until all sugar is dissolved. Add tea powder, juice concentrates and cold water. Chill until cold, and then mix in vodka, and freeze contents in a plastic container. Scoop 1 cup of the frozen mixture into a tall glass and add lemon-lime soda before serving.
