A simple home remedy for sweaty hands is to apply regular or clinical strength over-the-counter antiperspirants on dry hands at night, according to the International Hyperhidrosis Society. Other treatment options include prescription antiperspirants, iontophoresis, Botox injections and, for hands that do not respond to other treatments, the endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy.
Palmar hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that begins in childhood and is characterized by abnormal and uncontrollable sweating of the hands, explains Cedars-Sinai. The sweating may also occur in the feet, underarms and groin area. Causes of the condition may be an overactive sympathetic nervous system, heat and stress, or it may be hereditary. Sometimes the cause is unknown.
