According to WebMD, women are more likely to experience vague symptoms of heart disease than men. While chest pain is a common heart disease symptom in women and men, women tend to feel an uncomfortable squeezing sensation in the chest, as opposed to severe chest pain. Chest tightness can occur anywhere in the chest, not just on the left side. Another symptom that may not set off alarm bells is stomach pain, which can mimic symptoms associated with the flu, heartburn or an ulcer. Pain often shows up in the jaw and neck areas in women, instead of the left arm. This type of unexplained pain may come and go before becoming intense.
Some women with heart disease experience an extreme feeling of fatigue for no apparent reason, notes WebMD. This feeling of tiredness remains persistent even while doing normal activities or resting. Breaking out into a cold sweat can be a sign that a woman is having a heart attack.Learn more about Cardiac Health
