Grains such as rye, wheat and barley are high in gluten. Foods that trigger the disease include pasta, breads, oats, cakes and pizza.
Other disorders associated with gluten include wheat allergy and gluten sensitivity. Wheat allergy is an allergic reaction to foods that contain wheat, explains Biomed Central. On the other hand, gluten sensitivity is not an allergic reaction to gluten. People who are sensitive to gluten often experience distress after eating foods containing gluten and may not necessarily have celiac disease.
