Numerous contact lens manufacturers offer free trial pairs of lenses, including Alcon, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, CooperVision and Bausch & Lomb. In some cases, manufacturers provide patients with coupons for free lenses that are redeemable at the offices of participating optometrists. Additionally, many optometrists provide free trial lenses to patients upon request.
As of October 2015, Alcon offers a free trial pair of non-corrective Air Optix Colors contact lenses. These lenses can change or enhance eye color; non-trial versions can also correct vision. Visitors to EyeFile.com can request certificates for these free lenses using the site's online order form and obtain them at participating optometry offices. In most cases, patients have to undergo eye exams before they can get the lenses.
Alcon's free trial version of FreshLook color contact lenses is also available in 2015. FreshLookContacts.com provides a request form to order the free lenses. This form also includes free membership to the EyeFile eye care management system. Those who fill out the form receive certificates for the lenses, which they can present at participating optometry offices.
Johnson & Johnson Vision Care offers free trial versions of its Acuvue contact lenses as of October 2015. A registration form to obtain certificates for the free lenses is available on Acuvue.com; however, the manufacturer points out that it is not necessary to use promotional certificates to receive these products. Participating optometrists with adequate supplies can offer free trial Acuvue lenses to any patients who request them.
