Coenzyme Q10 may help promote weight loss in obese people because those with a high body mass index, or BMI, can have lower levels than those with a healthy BMI, explains Mayo Clinic. As of 2015, evidence to confirm that coenzyme Q10 supports weight loss is scientifically unclear.
A traditional dose of coenzyme Q10 for weight loss is 100 milligrams daily by mouth for three months, according to Mayo Clinic. Some people also use coenzyme Q10 to improve exercise performance. As with weight loss, evidence to support the effectiveness of this treatment is unclear; however there is good scientific evidence that coenzyme Q10 is an effective treatment for chronic heart failure and high blood pressure.
