Double-hinged knee braces, such as the Hg80 Hinged Knee Brace from Mueller, are outfitted with moisture-wicking, antimicrobial fabric and interior grip strips to cling to the skin no matter the level of moisture endured. Adjustable strapping secures the brace, and it features a Tibial Containment System that acts as a second shell for the brace. It employs both a rear support strap and stabilizing patella buttress. Mueller braces and others of similar quality use Triaxial Hinges. These are considered to be the standard in knee protection, as the hinges mimic the natural motion of the knee joint.
Provide proper care to double-hinged knee braces to extend their life. Take all hinges out before hand-washing the fabric portion using cold water and detergent. No bleach or fabric softener should be used on the brace. Rinse and fully air dry before re-inserting the hinges and storing the brace.
Double-hinged knee braces are recommended for the protection of injured or weak knees, as well as for individuals with sublaxating patellas and irritated kneecaps.Learn more about Fitness & Exercise
