The Omni weight loss diet requires specific foods but not any specific products. The diet plan includes food such as fresh vegetables except white potatoes, moderate amounts of fruit, eggs, naturally raised lean meats and poultry, and raw nuts. Foods off-limits to the plan include dairy, soy, corn and sugar.
The diet also allows for foods such as maca root, goji powder, lucuma, and pomegranate and oils such as olive, grape seed, coconut and almond. The diet restricts the consumption of grains to small amounts of quinoa, buckwheat and amarant.
The Omni diet, designed by Tana Amen, RN, works in three phases. The first phase sticks to the restrictive diet, while the second phase allows for more flexibility. The third phase continues the diet into the future.
