Free printable glucose log books help diabetic patients monitor their blood sugar levels throughout the day. Data collection and documentation are essential in managing diabetes, states the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Free printable versions are available for download at UCSF's website.
Printable glucose log books serve as tangible guides for diabetics to consult whether their blood sugar levels are within the target range or not. Depending on the condition of the patient, recording blood sugar levels can be done using three methods: simple, comprehensive and intensive, notes UCSF.
The simple method uses a log book that only keeps track of blood glucose levels at different times of the day on various dates. The comprehensive method is similar to the simple method but it also takes into account entries concerning carbohydrate intake, exercise and drug dosages. The intensive method is commonly used when the patient is taking multiple insulin doses.
