The Paleo diet is a lifestyle change in which people choose to eat foods from the Paleolithic Era. Paleo dieters avoid foods that were created during the Neolithic Era.
The Paleo diet focuses on eating foods such as meat, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, vegetables, eggs, fruits, mushrooms and berries. This diet does not include foods that contain grains, dairy, beans, potatoes or sugar. In general, Paleo dieters do not eat processed foods and create all of their foods at home to obtain the highest concentration of nutrients. Paleo dieters also have set rules for the types of meats, vegetables and fruits that are allowed, and they often drink only water as a beverage.
