Paleo is diet that involves consuming unprocessed foods. These foods are whole and resemble what they look like in their natural form. The paleo mirrors the diet previously consumed by hunter-gatherer ancestors.

The main objective of the paleo diet is to improve the health of people by keeping them free of health disorders such as diabetes, heart disease and obesity. According to Authority Nutrition, the paleo diet leads to significant weight loss without counting calories. People using this approach eat either a high-carb diet alongside plant products or a low-carb diet with lots of animal foods. Authority Nutrition explains that tubers, fish, salt, healthy fats, fruits and eggs are examples of foods to eat when following the paleo diet.
