What Is the Best Multivitamin for Women Over 40?

According to Fitness Magazine, the president of ConsumerLab, Tod Cooperman, MD, recommends One A Day Women's and GNC Women's Ultra Mega as the best multivitamins for older women. MultivitaminGuide.com rated Total Balance Women's by Xtend-Life Natural Products, and Vitalizer Women by Shaklee, as the top two women's multivitamins of 2014.

Fitness Magazine suggests looking for a multivitamin that has at least 600 IUs of vitamin D, 18 mg of iron and 400 micrograms of folic acid. MultivitaminGuide.com lists eight vitamins and minerals that women should be adding to their diet: iron, calcium, magnesium, vitamin A, folate (vitamin B), biotin (vitamin B7), vitamin C and vitamin D. For women over 40, vitamin D is especially important to decrease risk of bone loss.
