By drinking 12 ounces of V8, a person gets three-fifths of her recommended daily servings of vegetables. However, though a 12-ounce serving is only 75 calories, it has 975 milligrams of sodium. The American Heart Association recommends that adults consume no more than 1,500 milligrams of sodium per day, so 12 ounces of V8 has almost two-thirds of that daily recommendation for salt. The low-sodium version, on the other hand, only has 210 milligrams of sodium per 12 ounces.
