Flavored vodka contains low calories and no carbs. The assumption that flavored vodka contains carbs is derived from the sweet or savory taste of the product. When compared to regular vodka, flavored vodka contains virtually the same amount of calories and carbs. The biggest different is the distilling process.
Flavoring agents are added during the initial distilling process. After the process is completed, all that remains is the essence. Lower-quality vodka goes through a different process that involves the addition of sugar and artificial flavoring agents after distillation. High-quality vodka does not contain high amounts of sugar or fructose to create its flavor.
