To lose weight naturally, create goals for yourself, change your approach to food, improve your diet and exercise regularly. It is possible to lose three pounds or more in the first week through exercise and healthy eating habits. After the first week, losing one to two pounds per week should be your goal.
- Make a plan
If you burn 500 calories more than you consume every day, it is possible to lose one or two pounds every week. Burning more calories results in more weight loss. Decide on a daily calorie-burning goal and stick with it.
- Alter your eating habits
Reconsider your eating approach. Avoid snacking between meals and skipping meals. Increase your water intake and fill up on vegetables when possible. Don't eat because you're bored and try not to let your mood affect your diet.
- Change your diet
Avoid eating fats derived from dairy or meat. Reduce the amount of starches and added sugars in your diet. Make meals from vegetables, fruits, lean meats and seafood. Try nonfat dairy products, soy and egg whites.
- Exercise every day
Cardiovascular exercises are ideal for burning excess weight. Perform cardio exercises every day for at least one hour. Do a few hours of strength training every week. If you haven't exercised recently, speak to a health care professional before getting started.
