Taking at least 1,000 international units of vitamin D every day boosts the effectiveness of the hormone leptin in the body. Leptin signals the brain to let it know that the person is full, which prevents overeating. Chewing meals more slowly also helps to prevent overeating. This is because chewing each bite of food at least 40 times causes the body to produce less of the appetite-boosting hormone ghrelin. Chewing more also stimulates the gut and causes it to produce appetite-suppressing peptide hormones. Exercising outside curbs the appetite and suppresses cravings. In addition to this, exercising outside causes you to exercise harder while feeling less exertion.
Moving around for 5 minutes each hour during the day reduces the amount of fat the body stores. This is because laying down or sitting for extended periods of time exerts force on the body's cells, causing them to stretch and create fat. Drinking green tea reduces fat absorption because it contains the compound EGCG. The drink also increases the amount of fat that the body eliminates.
