Eat a diet of lean protein, low-fat dairy, fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Cut back on sugar and salt, and avoid unhealthy fats. To burn fat, engage in aerobic exercise for 30 minutes at a time at least three days a week. As you lose fat, your face and neck become slimmer.
Chewing gum exercises the facial, neck and jaw muscles. Chew gum throughout the day to tone your facial muscles. While you’re chewing gum, practice good posture and sit up straight. Slouching enhances the appearance of a double chin. When you sit up straight, your skin is pulled tight, making a double chin less pronounced.
In addition to chewing gum, performing chin exercises helps tone the facial muscles. Try opening your mouth wide and pulling your lip over your bottom teeth. Move your jaw up and down 10 to 15 times. Repeat these exercises several times a day.
