According to Technogym, a person needs to ride the stationary bike at least 150 minutes a week to get the ideal level of physical activity. The website further recommends doing this for at least three months.

When it comes to performing a cardiovascular workout, using a stationary bike is safer than running on a treadmill, doing cross-training or cycling outdoors although it takes more time to get training results. Technogym says that the stationary bike allows provides the benefits of cardiovascular exercise, such as lowering blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart disease and boosting stamina, without the risk of hurting the joints.

Because the stationary bike is safe, Technogym says that it's suitable for beginners or for those who are just starting to exercise. WebMD also agrees that this exercise equipment is a great choice for people who are new to exercising and for those with back, knee or join problems.

Technogym advises against overexertion. The site recommends doing warm-ups and stretching before and after exercise.
