Stanley Burroughs created the master cleanse diet in the 1940s as a way to lose weight quickly and detox the body. Whilst following the diet, solid food is replaced with six to 12 glasses of the lemon and syrup concoction. Some dieters like to start each day with a drink of salty water and to have a herbal laxative tea just before bed time. Solid food is gradually reintroduced once the diet is finished.
Side effects of the lemonade diet can include loss of muscle mass and a white-coated tongue. Feeling faint and dizzy is common. Always check with a doctor before starting any diet.Learn more about Diet Plans
