The leg raise or leg lift is an abdominal muscle isolation exercise that is performed by raising both legs above one's body. This workout routine works both the upper and lower abs.
To perform a leg lift, one needs to lie face-up on the ground and lift both legs until they are at 90 degrees to the ground. Hold this position for 30 seconds, then bend the knees a little and arch the lower back in slowly without changing the arc. Bracing the core, take at least 5 seconds to lower the legs as close to the ground as possible. Once they touch the ground, retreat to the original position and start again.
